1st Day of AEM Business Course.
My first day at Ngee Ann Poly having the AEM business course was great! Everyone seem to be so pleasent and friendly. *Smiles*
In the morning when I'm preparing for school, I was thinking since this is second time I'm coming to Ngee Ann Poly, I should be a little familar around the campus.
Around 8, we arrived at Ngee Ann Poly.
I thought to myself that business courses must be extremely boring and it's going to be a long day but the lecturer with a friendly attitude changed my mind as he welcome us with his cheerful personality and his HUGE collection of sweets.
In this AEM business course, we learn how to make money through blogging. We cannot really make big bucks by blogging about our personal life. Instead, a blog that makes money is through the passion that we have. We can make money through Adsense. Where it advertise, so when somebody click onto it, we can make money. Besides Adsense, I also know Nuffnang. It works the same as Adsense.
We had our tea break at around 10:30am. We had noodles, crabmeat and drinks. I always wanted to go to LASALLE after I graduated but I might change my mind...
Around 11, the students from business & accountancy brought us to have a "Round the Campus Experience". They brought to a lot of place. Ngee Ann Poly was HUGE. The place I love most was OurSpace@72. It offers a large space for students to relax and chat. Gosh, I'm starting to love Ngee Ann.
They also brought us to the field, swimming pool, library and gym. I must say, the library at NP was a few times bigger than that of our neighborhood shopping centre library. There is also a place for us to play tennis with ourselves against the wall.
According to one of our guide, NP have 4 canteens and have lots of interest group to join. Like dragon-boat, water polo and more. Out of the 4 canteens, I can only remember two canteens. One is "The Atrium" and the other is...
Makan Place
Makan Place offers a vast variety of food, ranging from chicken rice to japanese food and from our local delight, laksa to 60 cents dessert. Though it offers a variety of food, I chose a plate of chicken rice as my lunch and it did not came to very nice as I thought it to be. I finished to half way a push it aside. My friend joked that the chicken used was from kampong.
As there still plenty of time after I finished the chicken rice, I make a short distance to OurSpace from Makan place to join my other group of friends. By the time I arrive OurSpace, it was flooded with students. It took me some time before I manage to find my friend. I guess after an hour of lecturing and touring around Ngee Ann, they must be tired.
It didn't took us long before we were back to have our lecture again. I'm actually quite excited about what's coming up. Mr Chan taught us about Electronic Commerce. Commerce refers to the exchanging of goods and services. Singapore's E-Commerce isn't taking place at the moment and it not in the near future as Singapore is a small country. Hence, goods and services and be reached in a very fast time unlike USA where the spread across their country was huge. Thus, they need to use internet to exchange their goods and services. E-Commerce contains 6 sections. Business to Business (B2b), Business to Consumer (B2C), Business to Government (B2G). Between these 3. Business, Consumer and Government.
We learnt different terms on E-Commerce too. For example, commoditylike refers to the same no matter where you buy it. Digital refers to the best of all because of low cost inventory and shipping.
This workshop offers me a lot of information. As we agree to Mr Chan's terms and conditions, he let us off earlier at the time of around 4:30pm. As we exit out of the room, we threw our sweet wrappers on the rubbish bin. Look at the number of sweets we ate. Mr Chan had lots of sweets for us indeed.
We stroll along the fountain on the first level of school of business and accountancy and through The Atrium. I was taken aback to see that NP also have a radio station. The DJ inside was chatting happily as he speak through the microphone. I just can't wait to graduate and enter Ngee Ann Poly now.
We went home by taking the bus. One thing I like about NP was that the convience. The bus stop was located just outside of the school.
I just can't wait to return to NP again on Monday. Made up my mind to come to Ngee Ann Poly after I graduate.
